Library of reservation and centre of documentation

The Library of reservation and centre of documentation has three functions: preserve all the publications of the Diputació de Barcelona, make of library and centre of technical documentation of the archive and facilitate works of reference and of context at researchers and users of the General Archive.

Regarding the function of Library of Reservation, custodiem the publications realised by Barcelona's Diputació since the moment of his creation until the actuality. Among the diversity of formats and type of works excel:

Regulations and rules of the Diputació de Barcelona and of the institutions linked at the corporation (Home of Charity, Home of Motherhood, Mancomunitat of Catalonia, among others)
Booklets, posters, magazines and informative material of the distinct kicks of Barcelona's Diputació
Publications of management and administrative (plans, surveys, reports, etc.)
The memoirs and the estimates of the Diputació de Barcelona
And in general all the publications of the Diputació de Barcelona integrated at the varied collections and themed of his publisher

To give response at the function of centre of documentation, the library has of skilled publications at the funds that custodia the Archive, as well as works of historic context, archival, juridical, biographical, etc.

Altogether the library has of some 20.000 bulks, among publications serially, monographs, posters, booklets and materials no book. They all can consult at the catalogue of the library.

At the last years has made a task of important digitalisation of the fund among those that excels:

Memoirs and Estimates of the Diputació.
Collection of previous booklets at 1958 (entry at operation of the legal deposit).
Works selected of the Mancomunitat of Catalonia.
Magazines published by Barcelona's Diputació: San Jorge, Arrel.
Magazines published by the Mancomunitat of Catalonia: Fascicles of Survey and Minerva.

The library of the General Archive watches also for the preservation of those resources edited only at digital support, that have an ephemeral nature, and that, at the last years, are a significant part of the publications serially and material of diffusion of the Diputació de Barcelona..
