Format:
Web application
Target population:
General populace, local administrations and citizen associations
Objetive:

Bikeable is a tool that seeks to promote the use of bicycles through citizen participation to improve the functionality and safety of these infrastructures.

Methodology:

As a tool with a strong component of citizen participation, a web platform is made available so that any bicycle user can take a photo of a place to improve (or an example of good practices) related to the use of the bicycle and upload it to this platform.

The photograph is accompanied by a title and a description or comment.

It is located on the map and is shown in a list. Other users can access it and vote, respond and/or participate in the search for solutions.

Opportunities and limitations:

The site serves as a digital memory of spaces to be improved, or spaces that are valued by the cycling community.

It allows you to identify and locate them on the map, and participate in reflections on them.

It has the potential to strengthen ties among the cycling community.

It can help local administrations that are interested in improving cycling infrastructure and sustainable mobility in general.
